Growing demand for SSDs

Growing demand for SSDs

In 2023, the SSD market will grow, TRENDFOCUS analysts predict. The positive trend will finally change the negative one, recorded the last year’s 15% fall compared with 2021.

According to the report of the international analytical company TRENDFOCUS, in the upcoming months, many of the PCs purchased in the first pandemic days will enter the renewal or replacement cycle. Demand will also be affected by Microsoft’s plans, which will limit the use of hard drives as the primary data storage in PCs from the third quarter of 2023. In 2022, the share of SSD as the only storage of desktop PCs was 75%, but by the end of 2023, it should reach 90%.

As TRENDFOCUS notes, the American company Kingston Digital became the leading supplier of SSDs for end users in 2022. Kingston’s market share at the end of the year was 24%.
