Sony plans for 2020: release 4 flagships and at least 3 mid-range smartphones
Continuing to fall in sales of Sony smartphones do not prevent the company from trying to improve its position in this market. According to network sources, Sony is going to release 4 flagship smartphones and at least 3 mid-range devices next year.
It is expected that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip will act as the hardware basis of the flagship models. In addition, smartphones will most likely have support for fifth-generation (5G) communication networks. The core of mid-range devices, apparently, will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 chip, which, according to rumors, will also support 5G.
You can judge the new smartphone by the renderings of the mysterious Sony gadget that appeared on the network a few months ago, equipped with a main camera formed of 6 sensors. According to new information, this particular smartphone will become one of the flagships of Sony 2020 under the name Xperia 0. It is expected that the device will have a main 48-megapixel sensor, which will be supplemented with sensors for 20, 16, 12, 8 and 0.5 megapixels.
The smartphone Xperia 1, the first flagship of Sony, which was released in 2019, should appear the successor of Xperia 1.1. The new device will have a display with support for 4K resolution, as well as the main camera, built on the basis of four sensors.
Another expected flagship from Sony is the Xperia 3. It will have a 21: 9 aspect ratio display with QHD resolution support. According to assumptions, the device will support 5G, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip will act as the hardware basis.
You should also expect the sale of the updated version of the Xperia 5 smartphone. The novelty will enter the market under the name Xperia 5.1. Most likely, the device will be a more compact version of Xperia 1.1. Both smartphones are likely to be seen at MWC 2020.
Regarding mid-range devices, updates will affect the Xperia 10 and Xperia 10 Plus models. It is expected that the manufacturer will endow both devices with 5G support. More information about the latest Sony products should be expected by the end of the year.
