At the CES 2020 Electronics Show in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA), Samsung Electronics continues to delight with new products. This time with a portable solid-state (SSD) drive T7 Touch.
The main "highlight" of the novelty has already been called the built-in fingerprint scanner for fingerprinting. This, according to the manufacturer, takes security to a new level.
So, the device allows restricting access not only with a password and encryption of information using the AES algorithm (256 bits), but also with the help of biometric user identification.
Three versions of the T7 Touch drive are expected, varying in capacity - 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. It will connect to a computer via USB 3.2 Gen 2 with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb / s.
The manufacturer claims a read speed of 1050 MB / s, a write speed of 1000 MB / s.
The drive is enclosed in a case with overall dimensions of 85 × 57 × 8.0 mm and a weight of 58 g. Buyers will be available in black and silver colors.
T7 Touch sales will start until the end of January. The cost of drives will depend on capacity - for 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB will have to pay $ 130, $ 230 and $ 400, respectively.
