Leica released the announcement of the M10 Monochrom camera, thanks to which, according to the manufacturer, the quality of black and white photography will reach a whole new level.

The device primarily attracts attention with a specially developed B / W CMOS sensor (approximately 24 × 36 mm), numbering 40 million pixels. The rejection of color filters allows you to reduce the number of layers on the sensor, due to which the passage of light is difficult or the rays are distorted. The result is exceptional detail.

The sensitivity is ISO 160-100000. The maximum resolution is 7864 × 5200 pixels. Images are saved to an SD / SDXC card with a capacity of up to 2 TB.

The novelty has a viewfinder, a 3-inch display with a Gorilla Glass protective glass, and a Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n wireless adapter. The Leica M mount is used. Overall dimensions - 139 × 38.5 × 80 mm, weight with battery - 660 g.

The Leica M10 Monochrom cameras are assembled manually by qualified personnel. Devices are created only from the highest quality materials using sophisticated technical performance methods. For example, the upper and lower lids of the chamber are not stamped or molded - they are machined from a single piece of brass.

The novelty is distinguished by its robust construction, so it is not afraid of the most adverse conditions. The shutter is released almost inaudibly, which allows shooting in conditions where it is important for the photographer not to attract attention.

The Leica M10 Monochrom is priced at $ 8,300.
