CES 2020: LG will show 8 new models of 8K-TVs
According to a statement by LG Electronics (LG), next week at CES 2020, a new replenishment of the 8K-TV family will be presented. Eight TV models with a screen diagonal of 77 and 65 inches have been announced, thanks to which the range of 8K TVs of the company will expand, which currently includes models with 88- and 75-inch screens.
The 2020 LG lineup will include 88- and 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K premium TVs (88/77 OLED ZX models) and LG NanoCell TVs (75/65 Nano99, 75/65 Nano97, 75/65 Nano95) .
According to the manufacturer, all models have a screen resolution that exceeds the requirements of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), according to which the resolution, defined as 8K UHD, must correspond to a minimum threshold value of contrast modulation (CM) of 50%. So, according to independent laboratories such as TÜV Rheinland, LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K and LG 8K NanoCell TVs have a higher contrast modulation rate.
LG's new 8K TVs have support for streaming 8K content at 60 frames / s and certification for 8K 60P HDMI streaming. The new models also support a wide selection of 8K content encoding formats, including HEVC, VP9 and AV1.
Also, the new models of LG 8K TVs have higher performance, as they work on the basis of the new third-generation α (Alpha) 9 processor. Thanks to the use of deep learning technology, the 2020 TV lineup provides optimal picture and sound quality for all types of content using 8K scaling based on artificial intelligence.
