CES 2020: what to expect from the new fast Samsung SSDs 980 PRO with PCIe 4.0
At CES 2020, Samsung introduced new 980 PRO Series Solid State Drives (SSDs). New items designed for the consumer market. First of all, these drives attract attention with the M.2 execution format and the use of the PCIe 4.0 interface.
According to the manufacturer, the sequential read speed of information can reach 6500 MB / s, the sequential write speed - 6000 MB / s. According to the information available at the moment, three variants of drives of different capacities will go on sale - 250 GB, 500 GB and 1 TB.
According to rumors, Samsung 980 PRO drives are made using MLC flash memory: this technology provides for the storage of two bits of data in one cell.
Unfortunately, there is no more detailed information about the new drives, as well as the timing of their appearance on sale.
